Tracking Phishing Simulation Events (Users Activity)

Learn which events you can track from the Phishing Simulation emails delivered through campaigns or programs.

Symbol Security provides comprehensive tracking of key user interactions during phishing simulations. The platform captures and displays the following event types associated with user engagement:

  • Emails Sent
  • Emails Opened
  • Phish Clicks (recorded when users click links within phishing emails)
  • Emails Bounced (flagged when emails are undeliverable for any reason)
  • Potential Data Entry (registered if users attempt to submit information on phishing landing pages)

During your initial phishing campaign, these events are accessible via the dashboard, offering a clear overview of employee responses to simulated threats.

To further streamline event management, you can navigate to Users > Activity from the left sidebar. This area provides an organized list of individual user activities, where you can monitor and manage a range of event types—including phishing simulation events, reminders sent, and additional user actions as new features are introduced. This centralized view supports proactive oversight and simplifies ongoing security management for your organization.

Here are some of the details you can see and export for each event:

  • IP address of the interaction
  • Date and time of the event
  • Browser used
  • Device type
  • Campaign or program name
  • Template name

Additionally, the dashboard’s bar chart enables comparative analysis of event activity across previous months, weeks, or years, depending on your selected timeframe.
