      Two-Factor Authentication

      Learn how to activate Two-Factor Authentication on Symbol Security

      Two-factor authentication (2FA) provides an additional layer of security to your Symbol Security account, requiring a unique code sent to your email in addition to your password. Whether you're an admin or a user, enabling 2FA helps protect your account and sensitive information from unauthorized access.

      Why Enable Two-factor Authentication?

      Enabling 2FA helps protect your account from unauthorized access, providing enhanced security for your data and ensuring only you can log in, even if someone else knows your password.

      Steps to Activate 2FA

      1. Navigate to Your Profile Page
        Log in to your Symbol Security account and go to your profile page.

      2. Access to the Password & Security tab
        This tab contains the ability to Activate 2FA and change your password.

      3. Click on “Activate”
        From the Two-Factor Authentication section, click on the "Activate" button. This initiates the setup process by sending a security code to your email.

      4. Check Your Email for a Verification Code
        Copy the 6-digit code sent to the email address associated with your Symbol Security account. Be sure to check your inbox promptly, as codes expire in 1 minute.

      5. Enter the Code in Symbol Security
        Return to Symbol Security and enter the 6-digit code exactly as shown in the email.

      6. And that’s it!
        Once the code is accepted, 2FA will be enabled on your account. Going forward, you will be prompted to enter a new code sent to your email each time you log in.

      Important Details to Keep in Mind

      • Resend Codes
        If the code expires before you can enter it, simply request a new one after 30 seconds. A “Re-send” option is available on the verification screen.

      • Code Expiration
        Each code expires after 1 minute. Make sure you enter it quickly to complete the activation process.

      • Deactivating 2FA
        To deactivate 2FA, you will need to go through a similar process, including entering a new 6-digit code sent to your email.

      By following these steps, you’re adding an essential security layer to your account on Symbol Security. 2FA protects you from unauthorized access, giving you peace of mind and enhanced security.
